This 9 Day Uganda adventure Safari takes you to visit the Murchison Falls  National park which is Uganda’s biggest game park for thrilling game drives and Nile launch cruise, go for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Gorilla National Park, Go for another game and birding experience in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Pick up from the Airport by your driver guide who will later transfer you to the Entebbe Botanical Beach Hotel or any other where you will dine and spend the night. (FB)

Day 2: Transfer to Magnificent Murchison Falls

After breakfast drive northwards to the renowned Murchison Falls national park, with a stopover for your lunch in Masindi and also another at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rare rhinos that are protected in this sanctuary. Later arrive in Murchison falls national park also Uganda’s largest well protected wildlife area covering 3,840 Sq. km. Move to the top of the Falls to view the natural beauty of these falls. At this place, the river squeezes itself through a 7-meter narrow gorge from a width of more than 1 km and drops below with a thunderous roar forming a water spray that rainbow that results into a stunning rainbow the wonders of Nile River! Dine and slumber.

Day 3: The river Nile boat cruise
Have an early delicious breakfast, explore the Northern part hosting a high number of Savannah wildlife. this game drive offers great opportunities for photography of elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks as well as hippos, and in case you are fortunate even the leopards, in addition to a big number of bird species. Following lunch, have for a 2-hour boat-cruise to the bottom of the Murchison falls from where great volumes water escapes through the small gorge forming an immense thunderous roar. During this boat ride you will see several water birds plus mammals in big numbers like Hippos and crocodiles. Head back to the lodge have dinner and slumber at your lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have a hefty breakfast, depart from the Murchison Falls NP to Queen Elizabeth NP as you drive Southwest through Fort portal and the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley. Have lunch on the way at Mountains of the Moon Hotel found in Fort Portal town. From here continue to Mweya peninsula found in the Queen Elizabeth national park. You will arrive in the Park in the evening, have dinner and slumber at your lodge.

Day 5: Game drive & Boat cruise-Queen Elizabeth National Park days safari in Uganda

Following an early breakfast, have a morning game drive to see the nocturnal predators as well as the early morning risers like lions, buffaloes, antelope species, leopards, waterbucks, elephants, hippos and warthogs. For birders, Queen Elizabeth is a paradise for birders hosting a diversity of migratory and also Albertine Rift Endemics. Dine and slumber at any of these lodges.

Day 6: Boat cruise & Chimp trekking Kyambura Gorge

Have breakfast and set out for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel for wonder game viewing and bird watching, head back to the lodge for your lunch and then continue to the Kyambura Gorge to track chimpanzees. If you are still on time you can go for a forest walk in Maramagambo forest to explore the bat cave as you look for pythons that feed on these bats. Dine and slumber at the lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Forest via Ishasha Sector tree-climbing lions

On this day have an early breakfast and drive to Bwindi impenetrable Forest via Ishasha region in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth to see tree-climbing lions that are prevalent in this area. Continue to where you will have lunch along the way. Have a community walk (the Batwa -Pygmy cultural experience and entertainment) in the evening. Enjoy dinner and slumber at the lodge of your choice

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast proceed to the park headquarter to be briefed about the gorilla tracking before going into the verdant forest lead by the rangers. In case you are fortunate, it makes take you about 2 hours or even less to see amazing Bwindi giants. The experience of coming face to face with these peaceful primates is very overwhelming. Proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing evening before proceeding for dinner and overnight.

Day 9- Transfer to Kampala
You will have breakfast and later return to Kampala having lunch along the way in Mbarara and eventually reach Kampala late in the afternoon where you will have a city tour. You will be transferred direct the airport for your outbound flight back home or transfer to your accommodation if you do not have a flight this evening.

Queen Elizabeth NP Top attractions

Elephant and buffalo are very common, and lion is surprisingly easy to spot. There are many interesting antelope species such as Uganda kob, topi, and bushbuck. Hippo and crocodiles are common in Kazinga channel. A troop of a chimpanzee has been habituated for tracking and nine other primate species are found, including the black-and-white colobus monkey. Giraffe and zebra are absent.

Best time to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is open all-year-long, but wildlife viewing is best done from January to February and June to July (the Dry seasons).

However, this scenic park is at its most beautiful in the Wet seasons from March to May and August to December. April, May, August and September are very wet months and during that time, the rain might interfere with your safari.
